#selfloveselfiesunday

#selfloveselfiesunday Happy Sunday! Every Sunday I share a selfie and something about myself that I love and am thankful for. Normally, I have published this on social media and wanted to also incorporate this onto my blog. I have been doing this now for about 2 1/2 years and I am excited to share this with you.

This week, I have felt so loved and supported. A few months ago, I was feeling lonely and like I didn’t have a community here in Denver. This week I was proven how wrong I was and how grateful I am for the people who build me up everyday. I have been shown how to receive, ask for help, and allow others to be there for me. And, I’ve been shown how I can rely on others and I am safe. Throughout my life, I have tried not asking for or receiving help. And then life throws a curveball, and you have no choice but to surrender to the lesson. And this is what I’ve found:

People want to show you love. I truly believe love is the most powerful force we are capable of and it comes in all forms. Through people’s actions of service, of support, and by trusting them in vulnerable times it gives strength both to them and yourself. This strength comes in the form of gratitude, appreciation, and vulnerability. When you are vulnerable and allow people to see you, it gives them permission to do the same. Your story can help someone else heal. How could you not share it?

I love that I opened myself up this week and allowed myself to receive love and support from the amazing people in my life. And, by doing this, I have never felt closer to each of them. It has deepened my relationships and gratitude for each one.

What do you love about you?
